Hupomnemata is in my view the equivalent of Zettelkasten from ancient greek culture. Maybe a little less structured, maybe of a more philosophical sense but the same in a few important ways.
The Hupomnemata was really a practice of writing what was read and heard.
The Hupomnemata is translated as notebook.
The Hupomnemata is self directed rather than other directed.
The Hupomnemata is written to make the author more skilled in life.
The Hupomnemata doesn’t contain journal type reflections.
The Hupomnemata is used to make the author a better person
It is surprising that this technique of writing notes has such a long history. We’re lucky to rediscover this and have a few people dive into this. I feel gratitude that I can stand on their shoulders and see where to go. I know, a poor metaphor. I’m closer to the idiot kid, kicking and screaming, as those that are leading point the way.
103 note in my Zettelkasten. Just a baby. Excited every time I use it.

Hope you have an awesome day!
This journal is meant as a reminder to my future self. A reminder to him to operate in the world with love and compassion and some tips put together in a moment of clarity to help him when he is less clear and caught up in stuff the he can’t control.
